Description

BEFORE ARRIVAL

You are signing up for WAVE Week Fall 2015. After completing your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email which will include all of the information you see below.

When purchasing your WAVE Week ticket, enter your name as it appears in your "Welcome to SBCC! What's Next?" email. All students are required to attend one WAVE Week.

ARRIVAL

Check-in at the International Student Support Program Office (ISSP) located on the SBCC East Campus no later than the Monday of your WAVE Week. You can check-in anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Want to avoid the long lines? Check-in on the Friday before your WAVE Week anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. We highly recommend early check-ins!!

CHECK-IN

Bring your passport, I-20, and completed “Check-In” form (included in your acceptance packet) to the ISSP Office. We will provide you with specific instructions for the times and locations for all of your WAVE Week events.

Check-in takes about an hour.

Your Assessment Test is scheduled to begin promptly at 1 p.m. on the Monday of your WAVE Week.


WAVE WEEK SCHEDULE

Monday: Check-In (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) and Assessment Testing (1 p.m.)

Tuesday: Assessment Test Results, Lunch, Registration Assistance

Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: PD 101B class (.5 credit)

Course Description

PD 101B: Orientation to College is a required class for students who place into ESL level 5 or higher. This course provides an overview of the American higher education system, the college, and its student support services. Students learn about cultural patterns and adjustment issues, US classroom culture and college resources that are available to provide ongoing academic support.


REMEMBER

  1. Only sign up for one WAVE Week
  2. If you need to change your plans, email our office immediately international@sbcc.edu
  3. Late arrivals are not allowed.
  4. Be prepared to be on campus every day during WAVE Week
  5. Bring your immigration documents with you on the first day

    Refund Policy:

    If you are not able to arrive in time for your scheduled WAVE Week you may request to be transferred to an alternate week in the same semester or you may request a refund. To obtain a transfer or refund you must notify our office no later than August 10. Requests after this date will be denied.
